Doubles: Mektic/Pavic [1] vs. Krawietz/Tecau [4]
After teaming up for the first time this year, No. 1 seeds Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic have become the most dominant doubles team on the ATP Tour. With nine titles to their credit, including championship runs at Wimbledon, the Tokyo Olympics and three Masters 1000 events, Mektic and Pavic will be looking to win their 18th match in a row against the No. 4-seeded pairing of Kevin Krawietz and Horia Tecau. Mektic and Pavic won their last meeting with Krawietz and Tecau earlier this year in the final of Rotterdam.
Singles: Tsitsipas [3] vs. Opelka
Three years after losing in the final of this event to five-time champion Rafael Nadal, No. 3 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas is now just one win away from having another shot at the prestigious National Bank Open title. But the Greek will face a tall order — literally! — in big-serving American Reilly Opelka, who has earned wins this week over Nick Kyrgios, No. 14 seed Grigor Dimitrov, Lloyd Harris and No. 10 seed Roberto Bautista Agut. Tsitsipas won their only meeting by retirement last year at the Western & Southern Open.
Doubles: Ram/Salisbury [3] vs. Gille/Vliegen
2020 Australian Open champions Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury will be looking to continue their quest for their first title of the season after a tough quarter-final win over No. 8 seeds Ivan Dodig and Rohan Bopanna. Ram and Salisbury will face the all-Belgian team of Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen, who stunned No. 2 seeds Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah on Friday. Ram and Salisbury won their last meeting with the Belgians a few months ago in Rome.
Singles: Medvedev [1] vs. Isner
No. 1 seed Daniil Medvedev survived a scare on Friday evening, rallying from a set down to edge out No. 7 seed Hubert Hurkacz in a third-set tiebreak. The Russian, who made the final of this event two years ago, will look to return to that stage with a win over John Isner, another big-serving American who upset No. 11 seed Gael Monfils. Medvedev dropped just four games in his last meeting with the American at the 2020 ATP Cup.
