The weather wasn’t on our side yesterday at IGA Stadium in Montréal, but so many fans still braved the rain to feel the excitement of the first main draw matches live! Now that the opening ceremony has kicked off the tournament, let’s see what’s in store on Tuesday.

Lots and lots of tennis

There will be tennis, tennis and more tennis at IGA Stadium on Tuesday, the second day of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers.

Monday’s rainy weather forced tournament organizers to fill up the schedule, so the matches will begin at 11 a.m. rather than noon.

First up on Centre Court are Canadian Vasek Pospisil and American Tommy Paul. Afterwards, Alexis Galarneau will go head-to-head against none other than Grigor Dimitrov (15) of Bulgaria.

Denis Shapovalov and Alex de Minaur will wrap up their Monday match (7-5, 6-6, 3-3) around midday, in a contest that could last a few minutes or a lot longer.

Nick Kyrgios of Australia and Sebastian Baez of Argentina will close out the early session in a battle of personalities.

In the evening, Andy Murray and Taylor Fritz, who won the 2022 Masters 1000 in Indian Wells, will compete in their clash of generations before Emil Ruusuvuori of Finland meets Hubert Hurkacz (8) of Poland.

On Rogers Court, catch Matteo Berrettini, Gaël Monfils, Roberto Bautista Agut, Cameron Norrie and Diego Schwartzman.

And as if that weren’t enough, Marin Cilic and Borna Coric and Hugo Gaston and Frances Tiafoe will be in action on Court No.9. To see Daniel Evans, Fabio Fognini, Holger Rune, Benoît Paire and David Goffin, find your way to Court No.5.

Get here early to enjoy all the tournament has to offer off the courts, too. Join us in the Tennis Canada Zone at 4:30 p.m. for a kids’ tennis competition with local celebrities.

Before the evening session gets underway, Centre Court will be the stage of an important moment in Canadian tennis history as Alexandra Wozniak and Tom Tebbutt are inducted into the Tennis Canada Hall of Fame in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the sport.

Make the most of your visit to IGA Stadium to send your favourite players a few words of encouragement on a postcard. Find the special mailbox on site, drop in your postcard and it’ll be delivered straight to the ATP ace it’s addressed to. The initiative is part of the Tennis Therapy program of Tennis Canada’s Mental Timeout project.

And don’t forget to sign the Positive Court Pledge. We hope your coffee has as much intensity as today’s program at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montréal!
