On Tuesday, the National Bank Open presented by Rogers picked up the pace to make up for Monday’s rain delay. Today, the action continues at IGA Stadium.
Félix comes on the scene
We all had to wait until Wednesday’s evening session, but Félix Auger-Aliassime will finally be on Centre Court at IGA Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
The sixth seed will face Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan, who was a finalist last weekend in Washington. Because of his seeding, Auger-Aliassime makes his entrance in the second round of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, like the other top 8 seeds in the 56-player draw.
The day will get off to a tremendous start with the wondrous Carlos Alcaraz of Spain—the logical second choice to leave Montréal with the winner’s trophy. He will face Tommy Paul on Centre Court.
Alcaraz will be followed by World No.1 and reigning Canadian Open champion Daniil Medvedev, who’ll fight it out with the currently unbeatable Nick Kyrgios.
Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz will round out the afternoon session to the delight of the passionate fans in the stands.
In the evening, after Auger-Aliassime and Nishioka, No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece and Jack Draper of Great Britain will go head-to-head.
Casper Ruud, Jannik Sinner, Gaël Monfils and Cameron Norrie compete on Rogers Court in the afternoon, while Daniel Evans and Andrey Rublev face off in the later session.
On the outer courts, Roberto Bautista Agut, Jenson Brooksby, Alex de Minaur and Grigor Dimitrov will compete in singles, while Jannik Sinner and Vasek Pospisil take on Benjamin Bonzi and Gaël Monfils in doubles.
Marin Cilic, Karen Khachanov and young prodigy Holger Rune will also be in action.
