It’s time for the final four to battle it out at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers! Our predictions: a great atmosphere and fantastic tennis on a sunny day at IGA Stadium.

Unforeseeable final four

So many players defied the odds that there’s no telling who will get through Saturday’s semifinals.

Only one man—Casper Ruud of Norway—has lived up to expectations. He will play his match against Hubert Hurkacz (8) of Poland at 3 p.m. In the quarters, Ruud was brilliant against Félix Auger-Aliassime and seems to be the logical favourite to reach the final.

The evening session raises just as many questions, as two players in their thirties go head-to-head. Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain, who’s having an exceptional week, will cross paths with Daniel Evans of Great Britain, who suddenly came back to life against Tommy Paul of the US on Friday. The match should get underway at 8 p.m. Carreno Busta seems to have all the weapons he needs to make it to the final.

Doubles fans will have their fill with a semifinal at noon and another one late in the evening that’ll be another opportunity to see Daniel Evans in action.

Here are some details on the semifinal match-ups:

IGA Stadium is all about tennis

Off the courts, we’ve got a busy afternoon planned for you.

Have you ever strung a tennis racquet? We’re challenging you to try starting at 4 p.m. on the Loto-Québec stage. In our stringing competition, try to be the fastest and win prizes! Afterwards, stay on site for the Acoustic Hour with local musical artists at 5:30 p.m.

Make the most of your time at IGA Stadium and catch some of the other matches going on. There are several giant screens featuring action from all the courts. Finally, get to your seat early to see the players walk out onto the court, and don’t miss a second of the electrifying semis.

Enjoy the tennis!
